This commission from LASALLE consisted of designing 25 individual handbooks and was done in collaboration with May Chiang / p+q.net.
The handbooks contain tons of information that are relevant to the staff and student population (module guides, assessment criteria, reading lists). For the new documents, LASALLE requested for the primary format to be download-able PDF documents. We were asked to design the initial mockups in Microsoft Word, this plan was scrapped in favour of using a proper design program to work on the project.
An alphabetical system was designed and applied to organise sections of each handbook and to highlight pertinent information. This organisation format also increased the ease of updating. Each faculty was then assigned colours that were complementary to each other and LASALLE's pre-existing graphic identity.
The handbook covers were designed to be graphic representations of LASALLE’s student population (the total number of x-es); with the bolder x-es in the handbook cover representing students of that particular programme and faculty.
